Although it seems like every private moment in most celebrities' lives is splashed across the front page of tabloid magazines, there is one detail about many stars' lives that somehow manages to remain private: their food allergies. It's no secret that food allergies are on the rise among kids, but did you know that many of your favorite celebs also have food sensitivities? Huffington Post recently revealed which top celebrities have food allergies.
A number of celebrities have celiac disease or gluten intolerance, including 'The View' co-host Elizabeth Hasselback, who has recently written a cookbook offering gluten-free recipes. Other famous celiacs include former first daughter Chelsea Clinton, newscaster Keith Olbermann, and actress Emmy Rossum, along with Drew Brees, the Quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.
Other famous people worry about being exposed to peanuts while in the public eye. Pop star Kelis is allergic to peanuts, as are comedian Ray Romano and actor Joshua Jackson. Tennis star Serena Williams is also rumored to have a peanut allergy. If you have a shellfish allergy, you are in good company. Shellfish allergies also afflict actress Halle Berry.
Have more than one food allergy? So do some of the world's most famous celebrities. Actress Zooey Deschanel reportedly has sensitivities to wheat, eggs, and dairy, while actor Billy Bob Thornton can't have shellfish, dairy, or wheat.
