Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup crisped rice cereal
  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 3-1/4 cups flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped Wheat Nuts

Directions

  • Cream margarine, oil and sugars.
  • Beat in egg.
  • Mix in flour, soda, salt, and cream of tartar.
  • Add the remaining ingredients.
  • Mix until well blended.
  • Drop by teaspoonsful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • Cool 3 to 5 minutes on cookie sheet, then transfer to racks.
  • Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
