I just saw a product on a Today Show segment about eco-friendly stuff for moms. One of the products looks great for PA kids. It's called "wrap-n-mat" and it's a reusable sandwich wrapping that opens into a placemat that can be easily wiped down/washed for reuse. I ordered some for my PA daughter, as I always worry about the surfaces she eats on being peanut-free. You can get some here:

the brand "one step ahead" makes a product called the "tiny diner" that i not only have for my pa son, but have given as a b-day gift to a non-FA kiddo. (order online or pick up at babies r us) its sorta rubbery siliconey feeling, rolls up nice and compactly, wipes down easily, and has little suction cup things on the bottom to stick it to the table, AND a dropped food catcher!!! i had been using tabletoppers, but this is soooo much better, and only $11. didnt mean to steal the thunder from the original product, just sharing another option!

I saw it this morning, too. I ordered 2 for lunchboxes. It always drives me crazy to throw away all those bags.
Now, why can't I think of something like this?! :-)
