I thinking about going to FAAN's conference in Chicago on May 3rd. (Haven't registered yet.) Who else is thinking of going?
Anyone else going to the other ones:
Baltimore on March 22? or
New York on May 31st?
I would be neat to know who from the boards will be in attendance...
Gail
Hi Gail,
I usually go to the NY one, but this year DH wants to attend his college reunion instead. They are usually quite worthwhile (the conferences, not the college reunions, lol!).
BTW, if you are a CHES you can get Category II credits for this conference. Just get a syllabus from FAAN, and submit it with your Category II credit form.

I'm going to the one in Baltimore on March 22. I nominated my sons' preschool teachers for an award so if they get it I want to be there!
DH and I are probably going to Chicago conference.
So how many cases of Merlot should I bring?

MamaBear, how you do make me laugh!!! Thanks for keeping me in such good humor today!!
Gail
P.S. No merlot for me. I'm a margarita drinker but am usually in bed by 9 pm !
AYE CARAMBA!!!!!

I think it adds a decorative touch to frozen drinks.

I just came from the Off Topic thread on "rudeness" and a acquired a taste for Chicago deep dish pizza. Anyone else going to FAAN/s Chicago conference? Just wondering who's up for deepdish?
I will be at the Chicago conference tomorrow with my husband. How will PA.com-ers identify themselves?
I just stumbled on this thread (while drinking a glass of Merlot, no less). I'll be at the conference tomorrow, too.

Wish I could go, but DH is working and finding care for the girls seemed not too much to figure out.
I hope you all have a great time and "report" back here. I'd really love to hear all about it.
I'll be at the NY conference... anyone else?
Miriam
My husband and I will be at the NY conference.
This will be my first time in several years missing the NY conference. I hope you will all post and keep us informed.
Amy
Chicago was last weekend.... Anyone go? Was it good? Any news?
Miriam and Janet, I will be at the NY conference on 5/31 too. Sorry to miss you this year Amy!
Did anyone go to yesterday's conference in Rye Brook? I'd love to hear about it. Anything groundbreaking going on?
Amy
Amy, I went this weekend -- it was very good, though very similar to last year's conference so not too much new info.
The best part that was not a repeat of last year was Lisa Cipriano Collins's talk about the emotional impact of food allergies on families. Great stuff to think about for each stage of a child's life...how the allergy affects each stage. I love her book so it was great to hear her talk in person.
There was also a talk by an attorney from the regional office of the Office of Civil Rights for the Department of Ed. She talked about the civil rights laws that apply to kids with food allergies (Sec. 504 , IDEA, ADA). It was a good basic overview, but I had already heard a talk at my local support group on this topic from the point of view of a mom and an attorney who actually advocates for kids with disabilities, which I found more helpful as a parent.
Dr. Sampson talked about the TNX-901 study that got so much publicity...hopeful news there.
Of course, it was great to meet and talk to other parents.
Hope to see you next year!

Sorry I missed it, as well as the opportunity to catch up with you! Something to look forward to for next year.
