Thanks in advance.

The only place we eat regularly is Bertucci's. They don;t use peanut products at all. But, even still we limit my daughters meals to either pizza or plain speghetti. My daughter is also allergic to soy so we are very limited.

Hi. We have eaten at Bertucci's a number of times, but now I am reluctant. My son was very tired the last time we went. We sat in a booth and he was squirmy and leaning on lots of surfaces and rubbing his eyes. By the end of the meal his eyes were a bit swollen. Could've been from anything, but it got me nervous. The only thing he eats there is the pizza. I guess I am still comfortable taking the pizza to eat at home, but not yet comfortable to go eat there again...altho, if we do, I think I will request a table and chairs rather than let them seat us in a booth.

We eat pizza also at Medhat's Pizza on Washington St. in W. Newton. He does have an ice cream freezer in front of the counter. Some of the ice cream bars and pops have nuts. I have never been there when anyone was eating ice cream though.

Anyway Medhat is a wonderful guy and let me read the ingredients on everything that he makes the pizza with. He doesn't make anything with nuts or peanuts. So the only issue would be if the ice cream was not cleaned off a surface. It is self serve ice cream, prepackaged.

I suspect many of the other foods are safe too. We just haven't tried any or investigated anything but the pizza for cross contaminated ingredients. I am sure Medhat would let you read ingredient labels on everything.

It is a "Pizza Place" kind of place. Very informal. Not someplace you would go to for a special occasion, just for an easy, fast meal.

One of our favorite safe chains that we eat at in Boston is Vinny Testa's. Our son has safely eaten many dishes there!! They cook w/ 100% olive oil.

Boston covers alot of area. Can you be more specific?

You mentioned that your child was also allergic to shellfish. You will have to be extra careful if they can not be around other people eating shellfish since lobster and clam chowder are a staple of many of the local resteraunts such as Legal Seafood.

BostonMary...
My son is allergic to peanuts/tree nuts and eggs. We have safely ate at Vinny Testa's...they have locations in Boston:
Boylston Street in Back BAy and Beacon Street in Brookline. The Chef told me that the oil they use while cooking is Olive. However, we still do not allow our son to eat any desserts there. They also have a location in Framingham. We have also had lots of luck eating at Joe's American Grill throughout MA.
