Read the article! Often times professors get pressured to publish (or perish as they say) and their studies need to be tweaked! As my son once reacted seriously to peanut "contamination" at school I want to add my two cents to this topic! I am not sure that the article helps us too much as 50% of dentists do not wash their hands at work after going to the john! Our homes are as allergen free as possible, but since when does a school supervise the cleaning of cafeteria tables when they are used for consecutive periods in most cases?? Lastly, the authors state "...because we were not able to detect airborne Ara.....we were unable to make specific conclusions regarding risk..." Which although true, the study did not simulate the sealed internal environment of an airplane for a designated period of time. If my son had had his allergic reaction on an airplane rather than from a school environment, I fear we might have lost him under the best of conditions! I am happy to know that soap and water work; now what about that 1 in 13 water fountain?

you might want to paste in the link to the article so that people can do that. I know it is in the other thread... but this one is BOUND to get separated from the older one.
I agree... "inconclusive results" SHOULDN'T be used to say "that doesn't happen" but some allergists are probably doing so just because the authors didn't get a positive result...of course, they didn't have a positive CONTROL either. LOL!!! (Makes the whole line of questioning kinda' moot in my opinion...)
So-- soap and water, GOOD. Wipes--- not so GOOD, but Okay. Hand sanitizers--- I don't think so.
Aerosolized peanut protein? Who knows. (This is obviously condensed substantially from the authors' discussion, BTW)
Any questions?
