I have always wanted to take my kids to the circus, but have never dared before because of DS PA/TNA . This year I decided to make a few emails and see what could be done. Ringling Bros. told me that they don't sell any peanuts or nuts but that I would have to check with the vendor to see if they will be selling any. So I sent an email to HP Pavillion to see what could be done. I got the email yesterday and was told that they just needed to know how many in my party and what price range and that they would start making the accomadations. I went to the circus 2 years ago... I didn't even think about it. then when I was walking in I was like ....OMG!.... Elaphants... Peanuts! YIKES... I don't know why it didn't dawn on me before??? ( course I was newer to PA too)
we had 3rd row seats... Everything was fine... The venders were not selling peanuts ( at least that I saw) go figure!... I wiped down the seats around us and prayed that no one had any Pb. They didn't I even let him get some cotton candy! Enjoy your self! It was a great show ( Ringling Bros)

We've been to the circus twice now. The first time - THE HORROR - I posted about it here and got some great tips on how to go to the circus safely. At that point in time, I probably didn't want to repeat the experience even though I had the tips, KWIM?
But we did go again and it was "peanut free". Great!
Have fun!

There but for the Grace of God, go I.
We have taken my PA dd to the circus twice. We went to the Big Apple. I brought safe foods and she was only allowed to eat what i bought. I guess I'm lucky b/c fil knows people at Big Apple and we were able to get right in. She was terrified of the clowns at 2 1/2 and then again at 3 1/2 so she sat in dh lap. I wiped everything down, my only nervous time was the rest rooms ( for some reason these are so out of my comfort zone) I told her not to touch anything and then she had to wash her hands with soap. NO reactions either time and she still talks about grandma clown.

that's wonderful!
I was crushed when the allergist said the circus would definately not be safe for ds. (I figured this but it was still disappointing) He's now old enough that I want to take both of the kids, neither has ever been.
This gives me hope that maybe when the circus comes here we will be able to go!
