OK, I'm confused.
My kids are allergic to tree nuts as well as peanuts, so I keep them away from all nuts, period.
The macaroons, if I remember correctly, have a nut warning on the label. My kids were really sad that they couldn't have macaroons anymore. So are there ANY macaroons which are guaranteed to have NO NUTS OF ANY KIND in them (or not made on the same line with nuts, etc)?

The Manischewitz macaroons are made on shared equipment with tree nuts. They are made on a line that's peanut-free year round. I know this because Manischewitz researched it for me.

i believe Callebaut chocolate is kosher for passover; there are also chocolatiers in skokie, il and brooklyn, ny that you can order chocolate for passover.
for a decent substitute for baking chocolate (unsweetened), you can try this:
1 oz. baking chocolate (unsweetened chocolate) = 3 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder plus 1 tablespoon oil or melted margarine

Hi. We buy Liebers Semi sweet chocolate chips for baking as well as for a special snack. We are having people over for Pesach/Passover and they asked what to bring. I said that between Passover food and the peanut allergy...don't bring anything! Being strictly kosher and peanut free is tough - so limited.
Have a great Passover to all those who celebrate it...if you are not TOOOO exhausted.

Paskesz Chocolate chips, made in Belgium, are made in a nut free facility. We use them for our matzah roca - chocolate covered matzah.
Shoshana - which Skokie place are you referring to?

FYI... I just e-mailed Paskesz about their Kosher for Passover chocolate chips, which are packaged in Belgium and shipped to their Brooklyn plant:
"Unfortunately when they are packed they are made in the same area where walnuts and almonds are packed"

I am now freaking out! I bought 3 bags without even looking, but just called the company and confirmed. Does there exist any truly safe passover chocolate?

I am not sure about Kosher labeling, but Guittard makes a semi sweet dark choclate bar that has a U with a circle around it and a D right next to it on the label. They do process almonds in the same facility but in a separate area. I read the website explanation and it is in my comfort zone for ds with PA. I do not know if this helps but I thought I would share this just in case.
