Who has flown from California to Florida or Florida to California with PA? What are the reputable airlines? What questions do you ask? How to you find nut free flights?

California to Oregon? What airlines?

Just want to know if anyone has had a good experience with any airlines that are either nut free or can accomodate those with nut allergies.

Any advise or help would be appreciated.

Not sure if Frontier flys out of California but we flew them from Spokane Wa to Orlando end of January/beginning of Feb. and they were great. They do not serve peanuts. They had snacks like sun chips and doritos. We had 4 legs of our trip and each time the flight attendant would make an announcement telling passengers that "a child w/severe severe peanut allergy was on board and please do not open anything you may have brought containing peanuts"! Everybody was great.

I would definately not fly Alaska Airlines. We had a terrible time dealing w/them and finally switched to Frontier. They do serve peanuts and can only offer not to serve them in the 1 row in front of you and 1 row in back of you. They told us they won't even guarantee that.

Just checked-they do fly out of California but they don't have non-stops to Fl. You have to change in Denver. We also did this.
Our family will only fly Frontier now after our wonderful experience.

On questions to ask...Just ask before booking if the airline serves peanuts and if they do can you request (and they guarantee) they will serve an alternate snack for your flight(s). I would also ask to speak to a superisor and confirm everything at least once before your trip. Is this yours or a child's first time flying w/peanut allergy? Make sure to bring plenty of safe food and a little extra in case of delays. We also brought 3 epipens. Had no problem at airport and they didn't even ask to see a dr's. letter about the epi's.

I don't know about who to fly Calif/Oreg. But I know we would never fly Alaska.

Have a great trip!

Hi-We flew from Boston to Raleigh, NC then onto Tampa on US Air. It was mentioned when booking that we had a peanut allergic child, and I also called the customer service rep. who told me that US Air hadn't served peanuts in years. I mentioned it to everyone we came in contact with-some said "No, I don't think so", and some added that they sometimes serve cashews. All of the flight attendants said they had no peanuts, and hadn't served them for years. Same story on our return flight from Tampa to Pittsburgh to Boston. I guess they sometimes serve cashews to the first-class passengers, but they respected my request to not serve nuts. The coach passengers received Synder's of Hanover pretzels (not in my comfort zone, and per Snyder's it would be best to avoid as they couldn't guarantee against cross-contamination in a couple of their plants). US Air also offered sandwiches for purchase, but they were mostly ham & cheese types. One flight attendant said she was going to make an announcement not to eat any peanuts as her own nephew was peanut allergic, but she never did. She did comment that a few days earlier someone brought on a can of Planter's p/nuts and she asked them not to eat them in case someone was allergic. Our son did fine-we wiped down his tray and armrests (which were not very clean).
