My 2 year old PA daughter has loved Trader Joes Honey Pretzel Sticks for over a year. They are slightly sweet and very tasty. I was so happy today to find out that they are produced in a peanut and tree-nut FREE facility.

[For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, Trader Joes is a specialty grocery store that we have here in Massachusetts, and I think they have other locations on the East and West coasts, but I'm not sure about other areas in the US or in Canada.]

Also, I would like to point out that the customer service rep I spoke with was extremely helpful and friendly. He made a special call to the manufacturing facility to double-check his information and encouraged me to call back if I ever had questions about other Trader Joes products.

If any of you ever have a question about a Trader Joes product, you can call Kerry in Consumer Affairs at 626.599.3817.

Thank you for posting this information. I am always in search of nut free, safe foods and snacks!!

I am always careful of private label products since they have numerous suppliers and change them often. I spoke with Trader Joe's a while back and they told me they can't gaurantee nut free since they use multiple suppliers etc etc.

I suggest you contact them again to double check.

I guess it just comes down to a comfort level...

Let us know if you speak with them again, thanks!

Do you purchase any other nut free items from their stores??

I only go to trader Joe's to purchase "Roberts American Gourmet Booty" products that are nut free. I never take my children with me to trader Joes since they have open containers of nuts and often have food samplings set up.

I shop regularly at Trader Joe's, and when I've had questions about a product like cookies, they've been very good about calling to get information. There are some packaged cookies that they sell (shortbread with chocolate) for instance that used not to be labelled "may contain" but now do, so I steer clear of them (although we had not problems before). But there are many other great foods there that I buy each week.

I'm glad to hear the great news about Trader Joes and the pretzel sticks. We buy the pretzel sticks but I hadn't checked on them. My kids really love them. I tend to trust TJ's labeling these days since so much is labeled "may contain". We buy all our soy bean butter there, too. Our local TJ stores do not have any open bins of nuts, but they do have samples of different foods out, sometimes. This has never posed a problem for us.
