Hi all! The beginning of school means a lot of extra work for "allergy moms". My kids aren't 'school-age', so much of what is involved with a new school year, I don't have to face this year. *whew!!* However, my husband and I are getting our feet wet sotospeak. We're contacting all the schools in our county and speaking with the principal and the nurse about food allergies. We're making sure each district has at least one Epipen trainer, as well as some basic info on food allergies, anaphylaxis, and of course, the use of the Epipen. We found a GREAT resource for this. It covers everything we wanted to stress with the schools, so we're making copies of it to hand out with the trainers. I thought some of you with school-age children might like to have a copy to pass along to the teachers too. So here it is... =) Hopefully this guide will cut down on at least SOME of the extra work involved with the new school year. Good luck to all the kiddos (and their moms and dads!) this school-year, hope it's a GREAT one!
