My dear friend just emailed me this link http://www.yum.com/nutrition/allergen/allergen_tb.asp and now it has me more confused than ever. We have avoided Taco Bell since M's diagnosis b/c of the info that the rice and salad shells contain peanut flour. But, according to this site, none of their menu items should be a risk.

I plan to call and ask them a few specific questions, but I would like to know how y'all feel about Taco Bell? Do you eat there or avoid it? I did a search and most of the opinion is a little outdated considering how often a restaurant overhauls their menu. Just hoping to get some current opinions. Thanks, y'all!

We eat at Taco Bell a LOT!! I have only been visiting this site for a few months. 11 years with my PA/TNA son and this is the first time I've heard of peanut flour at Taco Bell.

He eats there at least once a week. He asks for Taco Bell before McD's or pizza. He doesn't care for mexican rice, so he's never eaten it. However, everything else is fair game and has been for YEARS!!

The site referenced above shows it is OK for PA/TNA.

As we have eaten safely there more times than I can count, we will continue. I will be curious to see your other responses.

Have a blessed day,
Bridget

I've looked over their current allergen information on their website, too, and it looks fine to me. But DD did get hives around her mouth when we got Taco Bell take-out once, and she's only PA. This was before I even knew what she was allergic to, so over 2 years ago, maybe 3. We've eaten there many times before and after that with no problem. Mystery hives are an occasional problem for most of us dealing with PA, so I'm not saying Taco Bell is bad. I'd still feed DD there, but I would feel a little nervous knowing it's happened to her before and now her reactions are more serious than hives.

My daughter eats alot of Taco Bell food. Years ago I had checked them out and found only a dessert frozen taco thing that had peanuts. She has never had a problem there.
