Hi everyone!

Boy am I glad Val day is over. My daughter almost died on val day two years ago, she was in Kindergarten and got an unlabled butterfinger heart. I am room mom and run between her 2nd grade class and his kindergarten class to help out and really monitor what food is floating around and guess what was brought in to my son's kindergarten? Yes brownies with peanuts in them. He loves brownies. I check his food table and then ran to my daughter's class to help out, when the kindergarten teacher came running into my daughter's class and said a mom had just brought in brownies with peanuts and my son went to get one and asked a parent volunteer if it had peanuts in it. Yeah, he is taught well. He was upset that the brownies had peanuts in it. It was a wake up call for him, that yes grownups screw up and bring in stuff they are not supposed to. I was mad at the mom who brought them in. She also wanted to make those darn peanut butter bird houses in the fall when I gave her an earful. There are two other pa kids in the classroom. She doesn't get it! When asked if she checked the ingredients of the store bought brownies, she acted totally indignant and said no.

Glad it is over. I am glad not to hear any horror stories from all of you today. Stay safe.

PAmom,

I get so mad when I hear stories about such ignorant people, I tell you, I feel sorry for the first one that ever does something so idiotic as that.

If I could come to the school and shake some sense into that lady, I would.

There is a place for this, in a book ..Chapter on "Dealing with people who can't get it through their thick skulls, that I or my child can't eat peanut or they could die!

Smack -- I just read your comments after I had posted my response to Cindy S-C's topic "What would you want to see in a PA book" under "Living with PA". I think we need a whole book dedicated to this one subject of IDIOT COMMENTS & DEEDS with respect to PA!

EB,

You may be right. What a statement not only to the ignoramus, but to the world out there oblivious to the seriousness of having a life threatning allergy.

Everyone, I think a play or movie bringing this to the fore-front is so very much needed.
I don't want to ever hear of another "Joshua's Story" or "Nathan's Story"
ever again.
