So, dd is still allergic to peanuts and eggs. Got a letter from the allergist, but not a number. It was just a cc from the one he sent to the ped. "not surprisingly, d is still showing IgE sensetivity to peanut." She did test negative to tree nuts, and he said pine nut, but I think he actually tested sesame, so I need to call on that. That is twice that tree nuts came up neg on RAST. Her first visit to the allergist she was skin tested and pos to some tree nuts. So that is good.
Nothing changes, since we strictly avoid all nuts and nut traces or may contains. Not like we would bother to try to challenge tree nuts. becca
Awww heck, it would have been great to kiss that EA goodbye.
Sorry the news wasn't better.

becca, sorry to hear your news wasn't any better. Hope you're okay. Big hugs.
Best wishes!
Funny thing is, I made sure he and the ped signed off on all the papers for Kindergarten, in case she was neg for anithing or everything. I didn't want to be in limbo and waiting for challenges and all before school started.
I will call him for numbers. But he gave me a hard time, subltyl last time. "what do you need the numbers for?" He really feels they are rather meaningless. He handed me a survey one time, and the questions lead me to believe he was looking into stress levels and how it relates to info shared on sites like this one. So, he seems guarded about giving numbers. Allergic is allergic and he wants us to be very careful. He will give them to me, but I always feel like he is going to make me squirm to have them. I am just person who needs a visual or a number.
However, his letter last year said something like, she, if anyone, stands a decent chance of outgrowing. So, I wonder if her numbers are down or up or what? Just confusing the way he stated it. Makes me think they shot up and he was bummed too or something!
The good thing is that the ped is very sympathetic and helps me get the info or even did a CapRast on her egg allergy once, when we had not had one in ages.
You know, she is so picky, I cannot even imagine her doing a food challenge! And yes, I was hoping mostly to dump the EA! becca
Bummer Becca Sorry she didn't outgrow the egg. I know what you mean about numbers...I need them too. And yes, allergic is allergic. But I thorougly enjoy when they go down. Up, well, I start to get the urge to get my shredder out, lol. I declare them meaningless then.
If you want to, let us know which way the numbers went when you get your allergist to give them up. Meg

Having the data helps me too (regardless of what they mean/don't mean) and for what it's worth, I wanted to cheer you on in getting it if that's what you want.
I have to confess that in my own life, I haven't been someone who speaks up on my own behalf (probably to a fault) but I'm learning that as my child's advocate, I have to find a "voice."
Your child's test results belong to him/her and not to the doctor. And, in an ideal world, your child's doctor does what s/he can to make you feel comfortable, and doesnt make you squirm to get data that belongs to you.
