Boy oh boy are we on fire. The entirety of Los Angeles is covered in ash and there is smoke in the air. Fires are everywhere in Southern California. It is horrible and makes you wonder why we populated this area in the first place. I just went out for a second and my eyes are burning from the bad air out there. There are 80-100 mile winds in some places and NONE in my neighborhood thank goodness.
DD is filming in Chicago and their crew and stars are all freaked out because everyone lives in Los Angeles and some in Malibu where it is bad right now. I am trying to keep her updated so she can update them. It's a mess.
Think kind thoughts about Southern California today.

Thank you. Right now where I am is safe. We live right at LAX so we are pretty urban. I am trying to NOT breathe the air actually. Not easy though. The news looks horrible.

Hi! We are in Orange County and it is bad here, too. Our area and San Diego area has a large evacuation. We didn't evacuate but some of our neighbors one street back did. It is really bad. We just have to stay indoors and run the air. Pray for everyone here and the fire fighters that they stay safe.
Just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and all in the area.

Thank you. Right now we are OK here. We'll be fine. Others are not and I pray for them. It's HOT, the air is horrible and our cars are still getting covered in ash.

I am in the Santa Clarita Valley and it has been bad, I would never claim to be as bad as San Diego though. Sad, I moved here from New Orleans right after Katrina and I feel so bad for the families that are going through this right now. At least Ca. seems to have better control of the evacuees than New Orleans did. We just drove by my sons football field where the firefighters are sleeping in tents. I want to do something to help but I don't want to give a cash donation to a company, I want to know where my help is going. Sadly I don't trust my money will go where it needs to go. What would you do?

Peg541, I just want you to know that I sincwerely hope the fires will not harm you, your family and the people of Southern California as well. I can imagine it must be pretty scary to breathe that kind of air knowing the closeness of the fires. I'll think of lots and lots of rain in your area's future!
