I have a PA daughter. This is what I recently heard from Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches. With the exception of their penaut butter sandwiches, this is satisfactory to me.

"Thank you for your email requesting nutritional information on THE SKINNY COW(r) Ice Cream Sandwiches. In an increasingly health-conscious society, we are always pleased to respond to our consumers' questions regarding our products.

Our facilities follow all federal and state regulations in regards to food and food safety. We do not use designated lines for products that contain known allergens, such as nuts and wheat. We do however, thoroughly cleanse, sterilize and rinse every part of the machinery used in manufacturing, especially parts where any known food allergens come in contact.

The addition of "Manufactured in a facility that also processes peanuts and nuts" is not considered mandatory by the FDA standards. If our vendors use this claim on the ingredients they supply us, we will include it on the packages containing that particular ingredient.

Please feel free to contact our consumer relations department at the number below should you require any further specifics.

We hope that this information is useful to you and we appreciate your taking the time to contact our company to share your concerns. Please watch your mail for coupons that may be used towards future purchases of THE SKINNY COW(r) and information sheets.

Sincerely,
Ann Mack"

My PA DD has had these sandwiches a few times. She has never had a problem with them.

We have also been using this product for our 2 DS's. I guess we better add them to our do not use list.

Should start a letter writing campaign. Informing them of the hazards of not labeling for cross contaimenation (sp). How we understand that it is not 'required' of them to do this. But, if they truly care about their costumers... they would not be trying to kill of our children!

I will try and send one today.

They clean the equipment thoroughly so I don't think there's any intent to harm anyone.

(this is not a unique situation.. many companies such as Ben & Jerry's ice cream uses shared lines too and don't label for it as they are confident their clewaning procedures work ...)
