Recipe Book

I actually had a thought. What if someone went through this Snacks and Recipes thread and compiled all of the recipes and made a Recipe book out of them?

I am currently posting quite a few recipes but it's because I want to post what I have been sent so other PA parents/people can find "safe" recipes. I don't often use recipes or buy cook books. But what about the people that do?

I think this may be a great idea. It's just not for me. It would appeal to PA parents/people and also to just anyone who didn't like to eat nuts in their food. I don't even know if PA would have to be brought into it at all, except for maybe getting particular funding.

Also, there are a lot of PA parents with great recipes not posting on this board on a regular basis, so it may require obtaining some contacts. I have a few. And you could also put out a general call for recipes for your book. A separate thread starter in this very section - Would Anyone Like to Contribute Their Recipe to My Cookbook?

Whoever did it would probably have to ask permission to re-print the recipes, etc. but that's not really a big deal. I think I may be on to something, but, as I say, I'm definitely not the person to do it as I seem to live and die by my Joy of Cooking and Betty Crocker Cook Book, both dating back to wedding gifts twenty years ago! I think this is a great idea. However, I think that the recipes included should be ones that someone has actually made and can vouch for and not just copied from a book.
I think that it would also be nice to include a section on safe substitutions for peanut butter or nuts in recipes. Also maybe store bought products for example, instead of using plain m&m's for decorating cookies at school, (fill in the blank) can be used as a safe alternative.

Cindia, definitely they should be tried and true recipes. And your additional section sounds great too.

I think if we went through the Snacks Recipes thread and contacted each thread starter they would know if they had made the recipe themselves or someone else had made it with good results. I don't think that is much of a deterrent.

Yes, I am currently posting recipes that I haven't used but I am hoping that other people will so there would be that feed-back.

And certainly I have posted recipes in the past that I consider "mine" and use on a regular basis (the muffin ones).

Best wishes!
