HI all - it's Mary Beth, aka Juliasmom. I had to create a new username (long story). Anyway, thanks to all who responded on the Reactions page, when I was freaking out over J's reactions over the past few weeks. She's been completely re-tested (blood test) and the results are in.
She DOES have a sesame allergy -Class 2. Her egg and tree nut allergies remain, some class 3, others class 2, and peanut is Class 4 at 38.1Ku/L. The only good news, I guess, is that the shrimp test was negative. I have read all the threads on rast scores, what they mean, etc, and it's still about as clear as mud to me! Time to educate myself on sesame avoidance (sigh). What I still don't get is how she can be a class 2 on sesame and have an airborne reaction. Again, the whole class-relative-to-severity thing befuddles me. Oh well, since I'm looking for a silver lining, I suppose the Claas 4 peanut result will help me, should I decide to pursue one of the peanut-free schools in town.
Sorry I'm rambling! Mary Beth
