Pizza in Boston or nearby

Just curious what restaurants/pizza places are considered "safe" in and around Boston.
We have eaten Pizza at Medhats Pizza in West Newton many times, Bertucci's in Newton Corner, Anthony's on Commonwealth in Boston (or it may be considered Brookline). Newbury Pizza on Newbury St. told me that they use vegetable oil or couldn't guarantee that it wasn't peanut oil. However, I know of a family that has a daughter that is allergic to peanuts/nuts that eats there regularly without a problem...

We eat at Pizza Hut and Papa Ginos. There is one local pizza shop we trust as we know the family. It's called Pizza Roma in Watertown.

Hello,

This may be irrelevant to US readers as I live in Ireland, however thought I should post after reading posts about Domino's Pizza. My boyfiend enquired about nuts/peanuts when ordering Domino's in around September 2001 and was told 'no nuts' by the manager. (I must add I had eaten there many times before that but that was before I learned how serious PA is and that I should be more careful).

Anyway, had no problems with their food. Then, with the introduction of the Euro (January 2002 for all you non-euroites) Domino's hiked up their prices and reprinted their menus etc. and lo and behold, there appeared a warning (in tiny letters at the very bottom of the menu) 'All our products may contain nut derivatives'. This despite the fact that a few months before I had been assured there were 'no nuts'. Needless to say, I have not eaten there since.

I hope this post does not cause any undue alarm - for all I know the situation could be completely different in the States. Also, I don't know why I didn't post sooner - but it's only just occurred to me. But I just thought I would bring it to yur attention.

Take care

Michelle

We also make our own pizza when we don't feel like ordering out. It's much cheaper. I buy the dough at Bertuccis. Put on a little sauce, lots of cheese and any toppings you wish (pepperoni, ham & pineapple, veggies, etc.). Bake at 475 for 12 minutes. It comes out sometimes better than the pizza place!
