We had our "2nd opinion" visit with a new allergist since the 1st one was saw was such an @$$!@#$. HE WAS WONDERFUL! He said there is no doubt that ds has a PA, buthe did want to verify he wasn't also allergic to strawberries.
He did the skin test which was definately negative. He talked with us for 1.5 hours!!!! He answered all of our questions.
He said with a RAST of 0.82 ds has a moderate PA and that in 2 years we will do the RAST again. If it goes down we can discuss whether to do a challenge. He said though possible most people don't outgrow PA. We will go back in 1 year for a check up.
He said he wants us to call if ds gets a rash or hives and gave us good info on how to manage this.
It's so refreshing to meet a dr who takes time with you!
