I know this is far in advance but my family is thinking about renting a house on the outer banks next summer. I have been designated to find the place as I have mentioned my desire to be close to a hospital, does anyone know which areas of the outer banks are closest to the hospital or any ER facilities? I am hoping to cook most of the food and not eat out much while we are there but I would still like to know where the hospital is just in case. Any suggestions on any "safe" resteraunts, just in case, or any nice places to stay would be appreciated too. We are looking to rent a 10-15 person house...thanks so much! Thanks so much for the links! I am already very excited about this vacation for next year!!!

I love the NC beaches! Of course, I live in NC so I may be biased. I have spent more time in the Wilmington area but have also been to the Outer Banks several times. My PA son has never had a problem. He is also tree nut and shellfish allergic. We are just very careful and ask a lot of questions. We do most of our meals at the houses that we rent.
Here is a link to medical care information on The Outer Banks.

Here a link to a house in Avon on The Outer Banks. We have stayed there about 3 times. It is very nice and I hear it was redecorated this past summer. It has the great room/kitchen/dining room on the top floor to take advantage of the view. THe website says 4 bedrooms but I think there are at least 5. Great pool built into the deck. Have fun!!
