I didn't quite catch the whole segment, but on The Oprah Winfrey show today she had an ER doctor as a guest who dicussed handling medical emergencies. In addition to talking about other emergencies, he spent a few minutes on peanut allergies and the use of the epi-pen (he had an epi-pen with him and briefly demonstated how to use it)! It was nice to see the peanut allergy topic taken seriously on a popular show and getting the exposure.

Oprah's Nov. 3rd show was on Medical Emergencies. They had a short segment on a 1 year old who had an anaphylactic reaction to a peanut butter sandwich. The mother stated she tried CPR thinking her daughter was choking but realized it was something more going on. She took her to the ER and the Drs. told her she got there just in time. The ER Dr. on the show went on to talk about epi-pens and contacting your Pediatrician if you think your child has allergy problems.

I taped the show, but sent my copy to FAN.
