The Food Allergy Initiative (FAI) is pleased to inform you that Gov. Eliot Spitzer signed the Allergy and Anaphylaxis Management Act into law on Wednesday, August 15.

As a result of this landmark legislation, the state of New York now must develop model school food allergy guidelines and to distribute them to all New York State school districts by June 30, 2008.

This was from an email sent to me by FAI. It came late in the day; I'm sure they'll have an update on their website by next week.

Anna, I'm not sure how this affects private schools.
