We are attending a family event soon which will have a hospitality suite at the hotel for out of town guests. I am being asked for food suggestions for the host to purchase for the suite that are safe for my peanut/nut allergic child. Please help--I am struggling with suggestions and need to let them know ASAP since they are so kind to accomodate us. Below is the e-mail from the host when I asked about what they would like to put in the hotel hospitality suite.
Want people to be able to just go in and grab some things---cookies, snack foods (pretzels, tortilla chips, potato chips
Thank you for your suggestions. However, I would like to provide options that they can buy at the grocery store since we are dealing with nut / peanut allergy.
Any ideas?
We trust Lay's for chips (check the label-some items are not safe), oreo cookies, keebler labels well (again, check the label carefully-some varieties are not safe), goldfish (some don't trust pepperidge farm)..

For chips we trust Frito Lay (Sun Chips, Cheetos, Doritos, etc.), Pringles, Rold Gold Pretzels,
Goldfish, and I buy an organic brand of tortilla chip "Green Mountain Gringo."
Candies: Andes Candies, Plain ONLY Hershey Kisses, Regular size ONLY Hershey Bars, Peppermint Patties, Junior Mints, Tootsie Roll, Dum Dum Lollipops, Twizzlers, Smarties.
My kids dip veggies in Ranch Dressing.
Keep in mind everyone has different comfort levels. These are just some items my family uses from time to time. I'm really trying to get away from all the junk though. It's been a while since I've called many of these companies, so please do so if you have time. Always check labels as things can change! Hope this helps...

How about crackers and cheese...
I get Toasteds party pack ( assortment)
then get cracker barrel cheese I get the pre sliced kind.
If no allergies to shell fish how about shrimp cocktail?
grapes and cut friuts..
lots of options.
good luck!
I'd say you're always safe with fresh fruits and veggies - we don't buy much junk food either (even before the PA diagnosis) so our kids tend to just eat fresh produce as snacks. I also recommend Lundberg Rice Cakes (they have a TON of flavors) - they even have a "Honey Nut" which is nut-free (basically it's flavored with honey. I would also recommend those mini-cups of applesauce.

I'm so new at this and we don't buy too many processed foods so I can't be of too much help, but we purchase a TON from Enjoy Life foods - also because we have our dd on a GF/CF diet (even though she's not *technically* allergic, she just does better without those foods). Anyhow, they are free of ALL common allergens, nuts included.
