My daughter will be starting kindergarten in fall of 2008. I just spoke with someone from the school she will be attending and they had no idea what a peanut free table was - oh boy.
I'm looking for the most recent "Rhonda" letter to the school, requesting a meeting. I thought I read a post where she had an updated letter without the 504 language in it - does anyone know where I can find a copy of that letter?
I'm trying to print out these posts so I can share them with my husband, and keep them for reference. I can't believe the wealth of information I've found so far - thank you so much for paving the way for those who are new to this!

Thinking back, when I asked the school for our evealuation meeting, I called the district and got the name of the 504 coordinator...I then called and left her a message saying I had a letter from the allergist and test reults and would like to proceed to the 504 evaluation. I also followed up when I saw her the next day...she was very friendly(prior to the accommodation meetings, lol!!!) and got the evaluation meeting set up a couple weeks later. I do know many on here send in a formal letter, so that may be the better route. The evaluation meeting was the easiest part of our process, the accommodations were alot harder(IMO). But I'll copy and paste the letter I use, I can't remember who I got it from(it was posted on the board), so I appologize ahead of time. If you search doctors letter, there are a bunch more....I'll try to post more for you.
here's the one I chose to use....

I never gave the school a letter from myself, I just had our allergist sign one I got from here and once the school had that, they set up the elegibility meeting. So I am not sure that is what you want, maybe someone will post if they contacted the school prior to the allergist. Good luck
edit, the letter I had the allergist sign was from here, but I don't think it was from Rhonda. It was from one of the other wonderful moms on the board.
