I recently received a promotional pamphlet for Method brand cleaning products, and I got interested enough to email them about whether they are safe for my DS. These are environmentally-safe household and personal cleaning products, and they come in scents like pink grapefruit and french lavender. They even have a fragrance-free/dye-free laundry detergent. Anyway, here's the response I got via email:

"Hello there, Nancy, thanks so much for taking the time to write to us!

Let me first just tell you how exciting it is to hear that you are interested in our products! In response to your question regarding your son's allergies, the good news is that none of our products contain peanuts, tree nuts or their derivatives, so you should be absolutely safe to use any and all of them.

The best laundry detergent for sensitive skin is hands-down our Free & Clear product, which can be found at Target stores nationwide as well as online at Methodhome.com.

Hope that information is helpful! If you have any other questions whatsoever, please feel free to call or email me directly anytime. Take care and have a beautiful rest of the week!

people against dirty."

You can check out the website to see what products they offer, and where to find them. I'm going to check my local Fred Meyer before resorting to paying the shipping costs to Alaska. Also, they show quite a sense of humor in their advertising. This seems like the kind of company I'd like to support.

Many apologies for the delay in my response to your email, but I wanted to check in with our VP of Formulation before getting back to you. He did confirm that there are no nut ingredients in any of our products, including the Wood for Good.

I use Method brand cleaning products almost exclusively; I called a yr or so ago and got basically the same response as posted...they aren't as 'strong' as...say clorox...;-) but with a little extra elbow grease they work wonderfully!

(btw, I can't handle the lavender, either; I do like the cucumber bath line tho..)

The only place I've ever seen 'Method' is at Target......and I highly recommend them! (especially the stainless steel cleaner; it keeps my appliances looking new :-)

Take care,
Lisa

Drugstore.com also has method products. I thought it was an exclusive Target line but apparently not...

Just a warning to those that are sensitive to smells-the green tea hand soap smells REALLY strong and frankly, I think it stinks. I'm going to pour it out and reuse the bottle with regular softsoap because I can't stand the smell-it literally gives me headaches.

I got some clear variety of method soap for the kids' bathroom (can't remember the name of it) and it's not nearly as bad. I wish they had an unscented version or even a fruity smelling version-the flowery smells just don't do it for me.

I bought the Sweet Water Method Soap (avoiding the green tea) and its pretty good...it does smell rather strong...but its okay...I don't like that there are no refill bottles though.

That's one of my gripes too. You'd think such an environmentally aware company would offer refills to save on plastic bottles (not to mention money). I'll probably just keep using softsoap in the method bottle unless the method soaps go on sale or something. Also, Target is an hour's drive away so we don't go there often.
