Many may be curious about the "oil change" that is occuring at McDonalds. As a frequent customer at McDonalds and someone who is severely allergic to Peanuts I was kind of concerned. I contacted the 1800 number on the McDonalds website. I have been assured by two individuals, one a nutritionist at McD's that the new oil contains no Peanut Oil whatsoever. It is a blend of Soybean and Corn Oil.
Apparently the information is WRONG. I had a reaction just recently there. I am also severely allergic to peanut butter. I thought it was purely veggie oil, but I don't think so, unless I am developing an allergy to soy too!
No problems for my PA son so far - about 3 times since the change.
Sorry about the reaction. I hope you can figure out for sure what it was from.
Yup, that's what it was last Friday when DS went for a playdate at the McDonald's Play Place.
I have a friend who owns 3 McDonalds stores in Texas. She said that the new oil is indeed a blend of Soybean & Corn Oil. It is supposedly lower in cholestrol & saturated fat than normal oil.
