Holiday Candy Corp. Issues Allergy Alerts for
Undeclared Peanuts in Mayfair Trail Mix
Buffalo, NY (SafetyAlerts) - Holiday Candy Corp. today
announced the recall of it's 2 oz. packages of Mayfair
2/$1.00 Trail Mix because they may contain undeclared
peanuts. People who have allergies to peanuts run the
risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they
consume this product.
The recalled Mayfair 2/$1.00 Trail Mix 2 oz. were
distributed in retail stores in New York and New Jersey.
The product comes in a 2 ounce clear plastic bag with a
paper header on top.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection
with this problem.
The recall was initiated after it was discovered that the
peanut-containing product was distributed in packaging
that did not state the presence of peanuts. Subsequent
investigation indicates the problem was caused by a
temporary breakdown in the company's production and
packaging processes. Production of the product has been
suspended until the company is certain that the problem
has been corrected.
Consumers who have purchased 2 ounce packages of
Mayfair 2/$1.00 Trail Mix are urged to return them to the
place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with
questions may contact the company at 1-800-248-2881.
