Seoul Shik Poom Recalls Lotte Margaret Brand Soft Cookies

Flushing, NY (SafetyAlerts) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said that Seoul Shik Poom, Inc., DBA Seoul Co. is recalling 50 cases of Lotte Margaret brand Soft Cookies because they contain undeclared peanuts and eggs. People who have an allergy to peanuts and/or eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The recalled Lotte Margaret brand Soft Cookies were distributed to Asian food retail stores in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Michigan, Virginia, and South Carolina.

The Lotte Margaret brand Soft Cookies come in 8.04 oz. cardboard boxes containing 12 foil-wrapped cookies per box. The product was not coded, and labeled in English and Korean.

No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this product.

The recall was initiated after sampling by New York State Department of Agriculture & Markets and follow up by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) discovered that product containing eggs and peanuts was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs and peanuts.
