I was recently excited when I looked at Longhorn Steakhouses Kids menu when I spotted the dessert list. They listed a Banana Strawberry and a Strawberry smoothie. However, after getting excited thinking that DS may be able to have these desserts in the future I spotted the final smoothie which was a peanut butter cup smoothie. I spoke to the Waitress and they make all smoothies on the same equipement. Why or why couldn't they choose another flavor other than peanut butter. I thought finally I found a safe restaurant dessert. What a downer.

At our Longhorn Steakhouse, they serve peanuts in the bar area (there's booths in there too.) The last time (very last time) we were there, we discussed out son's allergy with the waitress. SHe said that she will see that the chef would be extra careful in preparing his food and that she would wash her hands and make sure she doesn't "snack on any peanuts" while waiting on us. I appreacited her honesty and concern, but also decided that it was too risky to eat there. The waitress was very nice, but who knows if other waitresses or chefs would be as cautious?! I guess it would be your comfort level to consider when eating there. (On a side note... a month later, that same waitress bought the house across the street from us. She instantly remember my son and his allergy when we met. Today, our families are great friends.)
