Was in Zellers and I saw the easter candy from Les Chocolates Vadeboncoeur. They have: DORA the Explorer, a hockey playing rabbit, SPONGEBOB, and BLUE'S CLUES.

It is a peanut-free company located in Canada.

I have also seen, in WalMart, boxes of caramel filled individually packaged small chocolate teddy bears. They are absolutely scrumptious!

Anna Marie, although finding it hard to believe that Easter "stuff" is out already (although we have Easter early this year), I have posted about Vadeboncoeur here before (not to say you shouldn't have).

My sister lives in Montreal and it was two years (or maybe three) that she found this chocolate and she was SO thrilled because it was the first time she felt comfortable sending my children chocolate Easter Bunnies.

This was when I was in Belleville, so I'm not sure if it ever got to Stayner (probably not, very small town, Collingwood perhaps). But even in Belleville (small city), you could find it quite easily at one chain of drug stores.

I remember the sheer joy of my sister.

I had always managed to find Easter Bunnies for the kids but I deal with PA daily and she wouldn't have sent anything unless she knew for sure.

I remember the package. On the outside she had markered "PEANUT FREE". She was just overjoyed. To think a company could do that to a 40 year old woman. And not even about children that are her own. Sorry, I didn't say 40. I must have said 30.

Best wishes!

Excellent, DS loves Blues Clues. I didn't know Zellers carried safe chocolate. I looked at Christmas and didn't find anything (other then the Nestles)

Cindy, I did check the original thread first. But, the first post refers to Halloween - and I really wanted people to know that they can get special shaped (i.e. popular characters, registered trade-mark characters) in a peanut-safe Easter chocolate.

Anna Marie, I'm sorry, I meant to offense. I actually thought I had started the thread when the kids got their stuff from my sister, but I hadn't.

I think Les Chocolates Vadeboncoeur must have received a lot of positive feed-back to be producing more and more shapes for Easter.

I remember seeing the Easter stuff last year in Belleville (it was at Geen's pharmacy - a chain of 3 in Belleville, not clear if anywhere else), but I'm not clear what shapes they had.

I just know when you see that Peanut Free thing on the box, wow, what a relief and joy.

I'll try to post where I see it "around here" since, as I said, I'm shocked already that Easter stuff is out in the stores already. I mean, I thought they would have waited for Valentine's Day to be over at least.

Best wishes!

Even my local grocery store is carrying them. Saw them yesterday. Dora and Sponge Bob. Really pleased. ValuMart (off-shoot of Loblaw's).

Best wishes!
