Can anyone recommend a good lawn fertilizer that is safe to use in yards with children, and just as importantly, that is also free of PA or TNA ingredients?

One of the larger brands just informed us that their products "may contain" corn and/or peanut hulls. Another informed us that they are considering adding peanut hulls to their product in the near future.

Any thoughts...suggestions...etc...

Here's the e-mail I just got from Scott's:

"Thank you for your interest in Scotts and for the opportunity to help you with your lawn and garden endeavors.

While a few of our past products used peanut hulls as a carrier, none of our current products use peanut hulls as the carrier.

Again, thank you for taking the time to contact us and for your interest in Scotts. Please feel free to contact our company anytime we may be of assistance."

I (and others) had called them in the past month and gotten the answer that they were still using them....I'll try to call again

Just called- they said will be listed on the bag under inert ingredients but may still be peanut for some of their products

Ok, so what does everyone use to weed and feed. Dh bought 2 bags of Scotts Weed & Feed and I called to double check and it does have peanut hulls. I am PA and am nervous about him using this in the backyard where I spend lots of time w/ the kids. I was thinking about going away for a few days while he does it, but we would rather find something else. Any suggestions? Its our first year in the house and the lawn had lots of weeds and we want to fix it up. Thanks, Mary

According to the email that I got from Scotts, (one post above yours), the weed and feed does not have peanut in it. See the list that they sent me. BTW - I have used Scotts for all 4 seasons for the last several years. My son is PA and has never had a problem playing in our yard. Believe me, he is always wiping out too, so grass stains are common.
