We are travelling to the beach with my 4-yr old (his first beach trip) next week. Any suggestions on how to keep Epis cool on the beach?
we keep our eppi with some cold water bottles, in the shade when we go to the beach in a back pack or lunch bag. the combo of the shade and the water bottles and the inlulation of the bag keeps them fine.
have a nice trip!

We have a soft-sided cooler that has an outside pocket. We keep the epi in there because it stays cool, but not too cold. It has worked for us for the past 4 years without a problem. Just make sure you keep enough ice or ice pack(s) in the cooler.

How do you know if your epipen has become too hot? We've gone to the park occasionally this summer and they sat in the diaper bag for 45 minutes or so in pretty hot weather. I feel embarrassed that I didn't think about it at the time but maybe that was too hot for them?
Do I go ahead and buy new ones and keep them in a cooler when we go to the park or wading pool?

I just got back from a waterpark. I kept 3 epi-pens in the cooler. I wrapped them in a tea towel and put them in a plastic bag which was placed on top of all the food, and not directly on the ice packs. This was all left in an overheated car. Epis were fine, neither cold or hot....
I also had one epi (in a waterproof epi container) in a fanny pack while we were playing on the slides etc.
Enjoy the beach
