A few more questions...

Did Caitlin only have rast tests for sesame or did she have a skin test also?

Has she ever had a reaction or exposure to sesame?

My dd's sesame number on her rast is extremely high- I am going to get the number for you now... 86.7!

I feel like this is the hardest allergy we manage- I still wonder if it could be false or not as bad as the rast suggests!

I guess I want to revisit this allergy(sesame) as I don't feel like it gets enough attention- Don't get me wrong- we avoid like the plague- but school concentrates on her nut allergies much more.

Thanks,
Gwen

Hiya!

Caitlins never ingested ANYTHING with sesame, though while Ann was BF'ing, she MAY have had something with sesame, who would know/remember NOW.

We know Ann never ingested peanuts, since she's 'severely allergic' (ykwim).

Caitlins RAST was + for both sesame and peanut.

We avoid it. But for US, and what WE are avoiding, heck, sesame is EASY.

If it has sesame in the ingreds, its safe to say, that one of the big 8 are in it too (less soy), so we avoid anyways.

Never SPT for sesame.

Caitlin had a SPT once. way back when... No reason to IMO now. We know what shes allergic to, and RAST seems on target.

Next appt is June for 6 yr RAST.

No hopes of outgrowing anything at that go around (which may be kinda discouraging THEN), but thats ok.

Thanks Jason- not sure what I will do at this point about SPT- has your dd been tested for all the seeds or do you just avoid?
