I have been using this for every cherry-cheese cake recipe I have ever made.
No where has it ever said "May Contain"....
now according to the new 2000 box I just bought it has a warning on it.
I still have a 1999 box that doesn't so I know for sure this was true.
Anyone know why now? Especially the Canadians here since I was thinking Christie's labelled and I bought the 1999 one around Christmas and the 2000 one around the same time.

I make my own graham cracker crust with the Nabisco Graham Crackers. They still have some of the boxes out with this recipe for banana cream cheese squares with graham cracker crust for the bottom. It says to crush 28 graham cracker squares (the food processor does a super job with this), add 1/4 cup sugar, and 1/3 cup butter. At Thanksgiving, I make up some triple batches for all my pies, press the graham crust recipe into the disposable foil pans and up the sides, separate the pans with wax paper and stack them. Pop them into the fridge for a couple of days and when you're ready to make the pies, just take them out and fill them. Everybody raves about my blueberry pie now with my graham crust, instead of using regular pastry dough. Making a cheese cake would be even easier because you wouldn't have the press the crust up the sides if you're using a bottom crust only recipe.
Oops. I forgot to add--that's 1/3 cp. of melted butter.

Thanks Karalot and ryan's mom for your suggestions.
I am going to call them tomorrow since they wouldn't be open today and ask them what has changed. For years there is no label saying "May Contain" and then there is. I know they are good with labelling so it can't be something new with that, maybe they changed production quickly one day and couldn't clean equipment safely so they had to label(I'm hoping). Like I said before, I use this for lemon pies, cherry cheese cakes that I thought was safe for my son .
If I have to do it myself I will use your recipe ryan's mom, so thanks again!

Well I just got off the phone with Cinthia at Christie's(Nabisco's) about the Honey Maid Graham Crumbs .
She said that they were all going to label "May Contain" now because they changed locations as to where they are making them now. They make the Graham Wafers safely so they will continue to be sold and we can buy them and crush them into crumbs ourselves like Karalot and ryan's mom suggested.
They then move the crackers to a facility that crushes them into crumbs that isn't safe, hence the warning now on the box of Honey Maid Graham crumbs.
So everyone will have to take out ziplock bags and a rolling pin or food processor and buy the crackers to make into crumbs now.

Thank you for your e-mail
Thank you for contacting Kraft Canada to share your comments about our peanut policy.
Whenever there is a possibility of any cross contamination with peanuts or nuts, we declare this on our packaging accordingly. The graham crumbs have the warning but the wafers do not.
Thank you.

This is funny, your question is the reason I came on the board earlier this weekend. We discovered the same thing with the crumbs. We were going to purchase them due to all the request for cherry cheese cake for Easter dinner. We ended up purchasing Graham Wafers from Cristie and crushing our own. The kids loved this! The crackers did not have a warning. I felt comfortable with this since Cristie is really good at labeling.
