Thought I'd post the response I got regarding Hoisin Sauce. I'm having a really hard time finding ingredients for asian kinds of food. There are a lot of very disparate recipes on the net for hoisin sauce. If anyone has a tried and true one, I'd be so grateful.

Thank you for contacting us about HOUSE OF TSANG Hoisin Sauce.

This product does not contain nuts. It does have sesame seeds. We would list nuts as a separate ingredient and it would not under flavorings. There is product manufactured at this facility that does contain nuts. We do follow the UDSA guidelines to wash things down in between so there would be no cross contact.

Kikkoman's sauces, including hoisin, are made in a peanut free facility.

Thanks! I remember the thread about their soy sauce, but never knew Kikkoman made hoisin sauce. I just emailed them to double check on the tree nuts. Looks like from past posts that if it's made in WI it should be ok. Yay

I have been trying to find the Kikkoman hoisin sauce here for the last month. The chinese grocer that I recently went to carried 4 isles of sauces, including Kikkoman but no the hoisin sauce I did buy their stir fry sauce that was good.

Hmmm, I'll have to contact Kikkoman about Hoisin sauce wrt sesame. I do miss it terribly, and would love to use it. Unfortunately, sesame is a major issue here as well.

In the Chicago area, Jewel grocery store (Albertson's) carries Kikkoman hoisin.

Hi, Finally got a response from Kikkoman and thought I'd post it.

Although Kikkoman Hoisin Sauce does not contain any tree nuts or peanuts, both tree nuts and peanuts are present at the plant manufacturing this sauce. Please note that processing lines are thoroughly cleaned between production runs.
