Grey sea salt

Does anyone use this? My husband bought some at Whole Foods tonight. The chefs swear by this stuff? I'm sure thats all they make in the salt plant.

Grey sea salt is perfectly safe, my husband is a chef and uses it at home all the time. The best way to use it is to put some on after the meat, vegetable, etc. is cook, it's suppose to bring out the flavor.

thanks. how do you store yours? so far we have ours in the jar it came in but it says to keep in a salt cellar or tray?? my husband said to get a salt grinder which we use to have but the grey salt is wet not dry.

Yeah don't put it in a grinder, it's too wet for that. You could use a grinder for other kinds of coarse salt though.

Many people like a salt cellar but anything will really do. You can use an open dish too... whatever is convenient for you. I keep my coarse salts on my counter to use while cooking and just use an open dish. A covered one would keep it cleaner I'd think.

We store ours in an container next to the stove, no grinder like Amy said too wet for that. I have a teak container with a lid but I think any container will do, I know Longaberger sells a "condiment" dish I think it has a lid and looks nice, that's what my mom uses.
