Anyone had experience with Great Cakes Bakery?
We heard they were very allergy aware. A friend of ours teaches at a peanut free private school. She said that her school trusts Great Cakes and allows students to bring in items from this bakery only.
Dh called there today and asked about their cakes. We were told that all cakes except for their carrot cake are peanut and tree nut free. They are aware of allergies and prepare the items with nuts separately and they keep everything separate.
I wish they were totally nut free, but it still sounds like they are very careful. My father is coming over for his birthday dinner and cake tonight, so I thought I would trust the bakery. (Just no time to bake!) Just wondering if anyone had any experience with this bakery.

Thanks for the reply!
We decided to trust them and it was SOOO worth it! DD had absolutely no reactions and no problems. It was so good too.
Dd said that the cake was "glorious!"
It was the first bakery made cake we've had since May of last year! I think we've found a new bakery.

Oh I am glad you liked it. They are a lil expensive, but so worth it. I am just so happy to actually have a bakery I can trust to make my birthday cake for me, since I always had to make one.

I have used Great Cakes a few times. The cakes are so yummy! I just let them know that I have a peanut allergy, and they make note of it right on the order form. They do not make anything with peanuts in the bakery, but do have a peanut butter cookie that they get from somewhere else. All the cakes are made right there at the bakery, and they make sure to wash all the pans and everything. I have never had a problem with them.
