Good Morning America is supposed to run a story on the research study at Duke we are in, as well as an interview w/ Dr. Burks and following another boy in the study...Friday June 23 AM.

Just watched the story---even my 7 yr old DD watched with me.

GREAT STORY and great advice given at the end! I laughed about the "Do not try at home" advice! DUHHHHH!

I cried along with you when you described the "scarieness" of reactions. A huge hug to you and your family for doing this study....hopefully this will change all of our lives years from now. I have such respect and admiration for you and your child. THANK YOU!!

I thought they did a good job on the story...that's actually not us in it though, but 2 other families in the study who live near Durham I believe...I cried too though!

Great article.

Was anyone able to get the video to play? I had it freeze up on me after about 5 seconds of video (there was no sound, either). I couldn't get it to work with either Netscape or Internet Explorer.

Thanks,
Debbie

Cried like a baby myself...

Actually, it was quite touching, as my 21-month old son sat with us and watched (obviously didn't know what he was watching, but he let me hold him, which was nice.)

God, how much more wonderful would life be if we didn't have to worry about cross-contamination!

I hope this comes our way (Cleveland) soon!

I didn't watch the story, my Mother did - I was at work. I was able to read it on the ABC website. I, too, cried. I hope and pray the study is 100% successful. How wonderful would it be for my PA son and all my other "children" to live healthy, NORMAL lives!

I had 2 phone calls this morning from friends, wanting to make sure I knew the story was about to be on tv. I agree it was well done, but didn't like the way it was titled "a new cure for peanut allergy". Now I have so many (well meaning) friends asking me how soon my daughter can get this miracle cure.
