DOT considering peanuts on flights - please let our voice be heard

Yes Cookie is absolutely right. I submitted a post on both the website as well as by email directly to DOT.

I have been allergic to peanuts for 65 years. This past 2 years I have been treated very badly whenever I fly. My flight on Delta in May from Pittsburgh to Minneapolis identified me and then announced the 4 aisle buffer zone.
Last summer on a flight to Seattle the gate employees for Northwest told me that "maybe I should drive if I was that allergic to peanuts".
There has to be some help because I feel as if this is reverse discrimination and I don't plan on giving up flying.... i just always have my EpiPen current and close by.

My son is 7 years old and I know when we fly United that they very graciously have made the entire flight peanut/nut free. The problem still is when people aren't completely paying attention when it is announced. Thankfully my mother when she flew with him to TX told a nice lady to put them away unless she wanted to harm a child. I think it is much easier for us adults to advocate for our children then it is for some adults to speak to others that don't deal with it. I believe that banning nuts on flights would just make it easier, again the problem is those that don't deal with these types of allergies that think it's such an easy fix!!
