Chilis - shows they could care less!

ugh - that sucks! I e-mailed Chili's about their peanut sauce - was hoping they would disontinue it. I know, Americans are obsessed with their peanut/peanut butter! I have to admit peanut butter/chocolate combo was my favorite dessert before my son got a peanut allergy. Now I am amazed that it is in EVERYTHING!

I have made molten lava cakes before. Many years ago for valentines day. I can't remember where I got the recipe, but I think it was Paula Deen's but there are several recipes out there. It was very easy to make.

Really? You really think that a public business should refrain from serving a dish because 1/2 of 1% Of the population has some sort of reaction to peanuts? Even when they take precautions to avoid cross contamination you are upset. Breaking down over cookies? Get over yourself. Companies like Keebler and Chilies are in business to make money. They do this by providing items that the public wants. The PA demographic has almost zero impact on there bottom line. I understand your worry but fail to grasp why you are upset other then thinking that you believe that the world should change because of your genetic mishap.

Please include environment and exposure as equally considered reasons that pa exists, at least in the article you posted. Particularly when you're calling other people's children genetic mishaps.

interesting article. One of the many theories that are out there now, but no one really knows. I tend to agree that environment/exposure ETC have to be in play also with the dramatic increase with PA in the west. Most members of my allergy group have no allergies with either parents, or in any family members and now it is popping up with their kids.

I'd be interested to know how well the peanut thai salad/peanut lava cake sells in comparison to the business they are losing due to that item on the menu. I know there's know way to know this, but it would be interesting to see if they really make out better with those 2 items, considering that entire families choose not to eat their now. We have one close by that we used to go to about twice per month and now we don't go. We're a family of 6 so that's a pretty sizable sale. There are 350 families in our support group an that is just in our area. From a person in marketing that is my thought. Would love to see the numbers.

My family just ate at our local chilis not to long ago. Both my son and myself are PN/TNA. We printed off the allergy menus and then talked to the server. They even made substituions for us that accrding to their menu was not allowed.
