Seems like the dark clouds surrounding Ford's Claycomo, Mo., manufacturing facility have lifted, reports Reuters. Ford's $400 million promise to build and retain careers in the Kansas City area facility made certain of that. A key segment of Ford's plans involve production of a brand new vehicle. Ford Motors has yet to announce which new model will be produced at Claycomo. Article source - Ford to invest $400 million in Claycomo plant by Car Deal Expert.

Seeing F-series production at Claycomo that Ford Motors proceeds

In Missouri, there is the Claycomo facility. The F-series pickups shown in the Detroit Auto Show will be produced there still. There is only one shift assigned to F-series pickups while many shifts have been assigned to making the Ford Escape SUV. By the end of 2011, the United States Escape production will change to be in Ford’s Louisville, Ky., facility as part of the $400 million cash infusion reorganization.

By keeping the once-troubled Claycomo plant open, Ford Motors states that it will conserve 3,750 careers in the KS City area. From 2011 to 2012, Ford will mark another 7,000 jobs within the United States in accordance with Ford’s president in North America and South The United States, Mark Fields who made projections at the Detroit Auto Show. This will include 4,000 jobs in 2011, 1,800 of which could be in Louisville and 750 engineering jobs in product development and manufacturing.

There are a lot of Claycomo bounty to see

Ford's $400 million reinvestment strategy for the Claycomo facility will consist of a new body shop, as well as a variety of additional improvements. Ford’s commitment to manufacturing within the United States along with the United Auto Workers union relationship is what Fields states this is.

The terrible outlook Claycomo had a year ago is entirely different. The KS City Business Journal spoke with auto industry analyst veteran Haig Stoddard in February 2009 who said that there would be plants shutting down for Ford in Claycomo and Wayne, Mich.

About the Claycomo staying open

Jimmy Settles is really excited about the Ford Motors news. Settle is the UAAW Ford Motors representative. And new Missouri tax incentives played no small role in keeping Claycomo open.

Settles said, “We are pleased to have the cooperation of labor, business and government working together to retain good careers in Missouri.”.
