Ok, so our son has been having Edy's fruit bars at school with no problems...knock on wood. I just got online and see that they label on the box Gluten free, Does not contain nuts, Does not contain milk...it varies on each box.
I got excited and decided to called the company myself. Customer service said that ALL of there products are made on the same equipment....however, they are cleaned...blah blah.
That is what bothers me so badly, I would not give them to him myself after speaking with customer service. Yet, he has been eating them at school just fine.
Any thoughts, experiences, etc.
I didn't realize that Edy's fruit bars are made on shared equipment. I imagine there are a lot of food items that are either made in the same facility or on shared equipment that maybe isn't on their labeling.

I know that frustrates me as well. MANY companies do not label as may contain because they clean the equipment in between runs. So people think they are totally safe - when in fact they are a "made on shared equipment". Thanks for calling, I'll add Edy's pop's to my NO list.
