I was just wondering if anyone with a peanut allergy eat plain m&m's. My daughter has a severe peanut allergy, yet she never has reactions. We are very careful, but still I am amazed that she doesn't have any reactions. She used to eat plain m&m's when she was little, but I became worried about it since they started stating on their bags "may contain peanuts" so I haven't let her eat them for many years.
We found out she had a peanut allergy when she first tried peanut butter when she was about 3 years old. She instantly became congested and lethargic. She had the blood test - and tested in the high range - level 3. She carries an epipen and has for several years now. We recently had the skin prick test done where she tested at a level 6+ on a scale of 1-4 for peanuts. I know she has a severe allergy but she does not have reactions. I guess I was just wondering if anybody with a peanut allergy eats foods that have warnings like manufactured in the same facility as peanuts or may contain peanuts because of other products they containing them like m&ms.

No absolutely not. My son's favorite candy was M&M's. Grandpa mailed bags down from NY, it was his favorite treat. I think I was most sad about losing this food. But we substituted with Little Skippers from Vermont Nut Free Company and he is just as happy for now.
