My 13 year old daughter had an anaphylactic reaction to a product with peanuts last week. Her reaction was immediate and severe. We used the epipen and called 911. She was transported to the hospital and admitted over night. She had a 3 day round of prednisone and 48 hours of benedryl following the incident. My question is about ow she is feeling now, exactly a week later. She told me last night that she has been experiencing a burning feeling in her stomach up to her chest and at times feels like something is under her breast bone. Is it typical to have these sensations after a severe reaction? Should I be giving her benedryl? I will call her allergist but wanted to hear about others post anaphylactic or severe reaction experiences. Thanks! Any information would be helpful!

when my daughter had a reaction, she ended up on a ventilator for 7 days and I swear looking at her lab reports I would say that perhaps she was rebounding for days. The peanut reaction caused her CO2 to sky rocket to 4 or 5 times what is normally found in your blood stream and she was having every 2 hour blood tests to see how much CO2 was in her system and it was going up and down sometimes with some pretty big leaps....but she was in a medically induced coma so on some really good drugs and I cant say what kind of pain she would have been feeling.
