I was curious what other parents pack for their kids lunches. All I can think of is jelly at the moment and that will get old fast.
Thanks so much!
Thanks CKH, my little one won't start school until next year, but I have been trying to think of ideas to try out.
We rotate among the following:
Cheese sandwich
Cottage Cheese
Yogurt
Cheese and crackers
Mac and Cheese (in a kids stay hot thermos)
bagel and cream cheese
foil wrapped hot dog and bun
chicken nuggets (again in thermos-but they do get soggy)
We supplement the above with a milk box or juice box, fruit or veggie sticks, and sometimes a treat.

we send my pa son to school with a sandwich every day. He doesn't want anything else, but it is always lunchmeat (although I would like to see if he would like cream cheese and jelly). We also pack him a side of fruit and a dessert. He has snot complained as of yet.
The above ideas are great, I also use many of them. A couple of other ideas: send a thermos with hot water and a package or two of instant oatmeal. My son likes milk added so I send a small milk carton which he can finish once he's used the required amount of milk. Quesadillas: melt cheddar cheese and whatever other fillings they like between two soft tortilla shells, send sour cream and/or salsa on the side. They also like Pita pizzas, I use a mini pita...make a small opening and fill with sauce and cheese, sometimes I add pepperoni, bake until the cheese is melted. I have a friend who sends rice with cinnamon and raisins, my kids don't eat raisins so I haven't tried it but her kids love it.
Good luck!

Thanks to everyone for the ideas.
During my sons first year of school I found he tried more items if they were presented differently. For example instead of a "plain" sandwich I would use large cookie cut outs for the bread which he liked. In addition, we make various wraps. All with cream cheese and a variety of lunch meats and cheeses. We also make what we call our own stackables and lunchables with safe foods. He seemed to enjoy the change in the way the lunch was presented which helped with the transition.

Thanks for all the great ideas. My son loved the school lunch but since his allergic reaction he has only had a cold lunch. He is getting tired of ham and cheese sandwiches. He'll appreciate the change.
