I think I'm allergic to peanut oil, but I know I'm not allergic to peanuts. Is this even possible?
I eat peanuts often as a healthy snack with no issues at all. About a year ago I would randomly have allergic reactions to foods without a clear cause. I've always tried to narrow down by ingredients, but it was never from anything I cooked for myself. I always use vegetable or olive oil when I cook anything... Anyways long story short I got food from a sandwich shop and the fries caused the back of my throat to hurt and swell. There's an allergen notice hanging behind the counter stating that they fry in pure peanut oil. The hot peppers fried in oil caused a less intense reaction as well. I'm really confused as to how the oil could affect me when peanuts and peanut butter doesn't. Could you please shed some light on this for me?
