I use Epi-pen trainers at home to teach my kids and babysitters, and I give one to the school nurse so she can teach the back-up people at school how to use the real thing. I called FAN today to order a couple more, and they said DEY would not let them sell the trainers anymore. I called DEY Labs, and they said they have so many of them to give away that they told FAN not to sell them. So if you want a free trainer, call DEY at 800-869-9005 7:30-5pm PST. (Brenda is who I talked to).
Thank you DeeJay That is great !!!

I just called, and they were great. They asked how many I needed, offered a PA video that is for children, and offered a video on anaphlaxis that is for adults. No charge - not even shipping! Thanks for the info.!

Just wanted to follow-up and say I talked to my state rep at Dey today, and she offered to send me as many trainers as I wanted! LOL! I originally asked for two and then later in the conversation she said "oh well you might want more for school and such" so I think I'm getting 4....
Also I asked if there was some sort of instructional video (someone mentioned that in another post) she could include and she said that those were "at a premium right now" (?) but that she'd include a copy of "Alexander the Elephant Who Couldn't Eat Peanuts." I'm very pleased! I would have been willing to pay for all of that!

I would have loved to talked to your state representives. I called and was told she would only send to medical or school address. My mom is a teacher and I had her call and have it sent to her at the school. I would love to have the videos, esp. Alexander the Elephant who couldn't Eat Peanuts.
Any suggestion of now how to get video for free?
I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth but...I almost get the feeling that Dey is being TOO nice! I asked for 2 trainers, and today they sent me 3 plus a ballpoint pen by Priority Mail! From another board it was mentioned they are going to start providing the Epi-pens in a two-pack with a free trainer included. Maybe they are just responding to customer suggestions and complaints--since the Epi-pen is such an important device, maybe they just want to make sure that the customer knows how to operate it correctly. It's just so strange to read all these positive posts about Epi-pens!
I called DEY today. They are sending several trainers for me and to help the staff at the school for next year and sending the video for peanut allergy kids. I am planning on having the school show it to the kindergarten classes in August so they are aware of the allergy also. I had no problems with the state rep. for Florida, it was all sent out today priority mail. I did ask how to get the Epipens directly, you can't.
reraising...
I requested them twice - by email - never heard back - and never received one. My pharmacist gave me a trainer when I mentioned it to him.- didn't eve
can't edit for some reason - didn't get the info package I requested, either is what I tried to post.
Go to "Living with a Peanut Allergy" and scroll down to "Free Epipen Trainers".
All the info. is in their on what number to call to get this free. Tell the rep. your training staff at your child's school.
Good Luck!
