Well, I was getting down the beach stuff and going through everything just getting ready for this summer and found peanut oil in my suntan oil.
This is our first summer with a PA/TN child and was surprised to see this. I threw out the bottle (Panama Jack) but it started me thinking. Do any of you worry about taking your child to the pool? Is the oil contained in these products dangerous for our kids while at the pool?
Thank you for the info.

There is a very large outdoor pool that I go to and the store there sells a lot of suntan oils that have peanut in them. I've never had a problem at the pool.
Never personally saw the value in a suntan oil anyway. We do use sunscreen - and make sure you read the label on them as well. I think there are some that have peanut in them.
Hmmmmm, hadn't thought of this one....what is to keep bits of oil from sliding off these persons into the pool and floating around? My son isn't terribly sensitive at this stage, but if he were, I would be a litle uneasy about that.....it will be interesting to hear others thoughts on this! Jen
I also found out (from this board) that Banana Boat products also have peanut oil.
I think it would be more likely for a kid with a PA to react in the pool from residue of peanut butter than from tanning lotion since the concentration is so much higher. However, my PA son (7) has NEVER had a problem with this. He goes to camp in the summer and they swim in the pool twice a day.
Everyone has the right to my opinion!

I had thought of the exact same thing while I had ds at the pool a couple weeks ago. More worried myself over other kids having just eaten peanut butter or any candy/choco having it.
