I received FAAN's newsletter today. May 6-12 is their fourth annual Food Allergy Awareness Week. Quoting from their newsletter "This awareness campaign provides you with the opportunity to educate your community about food allergy." It states that they will distribute informational packets to the media, medical professionals, the food industry, policymakers, and FAAN members. In addition, they have recently launched a video news release to TV stations nationwide via satellite, regarding anaphylactic reactions.
Their website at www.foodallergy.org has free materials regarding getting involved their awarness campaign. You can also call them for a packet at 800-929-4040. What a wonderful opportunity to band together as an organized group to get our message out!! Perhaps we could use this board to post our success stories about what each of us is doing to make a difference!

Thank you for the information. I called FAAN yesterday and they said they would mail me a packet then. I will use this information in our schools, churches and stores in the community. I want my town to become aware because of my son and other children with food allergies.
